Ingénue is a fine art floriculture studio and seasonal farm, located on the ancestral territory of the Haudensaunee, Wendat-Wyandot-Wyandotte and Anishinaabek peoples in the fields of West Grey, Ontario.
Our Garden
As a gardener-florist, Ingénue’s growing practice pivots on cultivating unique varieties in order to artfully demonstrate the beauty of quality blooms. Merging aspects of regenerative permaculture design and organic market gardening, Ingénue endeavors to improve the native biodiversity for the benefit of our own well-being and that of our surrounding ecosystems. This creates an intimate connection between material and design. We acknowledge with respect, the history, spirituality, and cultures of the people on whose traditional territories we have the opportunity to gather, flower and cultivate.
Our Aesthetic Approach —The Artist Gardener
Our design work demonstrates a nostalgic reverence towards the beauty of the changing seasons. Each arrangement is a reflective celebration of the wabi-sabi ephemerality that is mirrored by our natural world. Ingénue is ethereal, feminine and pastoral. Considerations towards color, line, form, and function guide the process behind each piece - maintaining an artful harmony between unconventional abundance and structural precision. Our garden changes by the hour, and by the year, we aim to capture its expansive essence within our designs.
